Angela D. Acree

Angela D. Acree was the Managing Member of the Bankruptcy Clinic; after a distinguished 20-year career as an attorney, she has decided to retire from active practice and pursue other interests. Prior to retirement, Angela passed the mantle of the Clinic over to Ted L. Tinsman, another long-time bankruptcy attorney here in Springfield, knowing that Ted would take good care of her current and past clients, and be the best option for the Clinic to help others moving forward. Angela passed the Missouri Bar in 1997, and the Illinois Bar in 1998, and in addition received Bar Admissions from the U.S. District Court of Missouri (Western and Eastern Districts), and the U.S. Court of Appeals, 8th Circuit. After being honorably discharged from the U.S. Air Force, Angela earned her B.S. from the University of Houston, TX. She earned an MBA at the Missouri State University, and her J.D. from the University of Missouri School of Law.

During her 20 years as an attorney, Angela has had many accomplishments, such as advancing to Senior Assistant Prosecutor with the Greene County Prosecutor's Office, holding the Municipal Judge position on the Springfield Municipal Court, a term on the Board of Directors with the Missouri Municipal and Associate Circuit Court Judges Association, and being the Treasurer/Director of the Make-a-Wish Foundation of Missouri. Angela has also been honored to serve her many clients through the Bankruptcy Clinic of Springfield. Missouri.

Ted L. Tinsman

Ted L. Tinsman is Of Counsel with Douglas, Haun & Heidemann, P.C., and has filed thousands of bankruptcy cases for people and small businesses under Chapters 7, 11, and 13 of the bankruptcy law. He has been practising law in Southwest Missouri for over 15 years.

In addition to Ted's bankruptcy work, he has provided legal services for IRS offer and compromise, debt settlement, workers' compensation, family law, Social Security disability, and personal injury cases. Ted earned a Bachelor in Business Administration degree from Lincoln University, Jefferson City MO, and a Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri-Columbia.

Ted is very involved in the community, including participation with Habitat For Humanity, leadership in his church, and participaton in the Council of Churches of the Ozarks.When asked whether he enjoys the practice of bankruptcy law, Ted says certainly, because he believes it is based on the Old Testament law of Jubilee, regarding debt forgiveness and economic justice, found in Leviticus, Chapter 25.
